Position Overview:

Application assessment, quotation, design and documentation of high-quality custom communication systems to meet customer specifications. Applications of low to moderate complexity level.

Responsibilities include:

1. Application Assessment

• Perform applications engineering duties;
• Determine feasibility/suitability of new or replacement products and parts;
• Evaluate customers specifications;
• Provide preliminary electronic/electrical circuit design;
• Provide preliminary mechanical engineering design to determine form, fit and function of product.
• Perform manufacturing process engineering, to estimate labor and cost impact.
• Write technical descriptions for specialty (code/custom) items, as preparation to be included in quotations or proposal.
• Provide support to Sales Representatives.
• Write quotations of custom systems.
• Research pricing, delivery and functionality of purchased equipment, to be offered with GAI-Tronics system solutions.
• Perform other related duties as required.

2. Project design and processing

• Generate a written bill of material to provide accurate parts list for products being built.
• Produce accurate preliminary drawings of all products
• Provide production department and the customer with accurate drawings of purchased items, supplying the information requested.
• Answer customer inquiries (via telephone, fax, letter or email) on products designed, to ensure satisfied customers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

3. Customer Service and Support

• Provide technical support to customers during the installation and start-up of customer products or systems.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications include:

BSEE or BSEET degree with zero to two years related experience or an Associate degree with one to three years related experience. Strong written and oral communication skills. Knowledgeable with the use of Personal Computers. Product knowledge, with an emphasis on understanding large communication system design - and the ability to correlate this with the customer`s specification, desired.
