Kim Lighting is the worlds foremost designer and manufacturer of quality, high-performance outdoor architectural and landscape lighting products. These include roadway, pedestrian, low-level and building mounted solutions. Kim Lighting, an affiliate of Hubbell Lighting, Inc., is based in City of Industry, California. The Sustaining Engineering Manager is responsible for managing sustaining engineering functions for the support of the manufacturing areas and supports the R & D Engineer as well as the development and ongoing engineering support of Kim Lighting.Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage engineering staff and manage their projects, schedules and workloads
• Be responsible for the design, documentation, implementation, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of products, manufacturing and engineering tools and systems as required
• Provides designs that meet industry requirements as well as internal requirements for cost effectiveness, accuracy, functionality, performance, and reliability
• Must have experience in writing system specifications, product requirements documents and prototype test plans
• Develop and work with the design engineering teams on projects
• Manage the release of engineering orders to meet requirements and internal goals
• Assist quality, production, sales and marketing in investigating and analyzing defective products returned from customers
• Assist manufacturing in troubleshooting manufacturing related problems
• Maintain design requirements, bills of material, schematics, and all necessary documentation for specific product group
• Investigate product failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to devise corrective actions
• Research and analyze customer requests for proposals to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and after-market service requirements of designs or applications
• Other duties as assigned

Skills, Education & Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering and 8+ years of Engineering experience
• Strong leadership and team building skills
• Proficient in 3D solid modeling/CAD software
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus
• Lighting experience is a plus
• Good problem solver with the ability to analyze data
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels and functional areas
