Position Overview:

Responsible for the profitable growth and management of all market segments and territories and other assigned product sales within the specified region. Position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key end user organizations, specifying entities, distributors and representative organizations.

Responsibilities include:

Region Management:

  • Interview, hire, and manage an effective and competent group of independent manufacturers representatives to achieve territory, regional and corporate goals. All market segments (Water Utility, Municipalities and Engineering firms) and territories within the specified region are to be staffed and managed in a manner that minimizes channel conflict while maximizing account and market penetration.
  • Develop and maintain significant and meaningful quarterly and annual goals and objectives with each representative company and outside salesperson.
  • Provide on-going training with each outside salesperson within the territory that has responsibility for the promotion of all assigned products. On-going training to focus on developing performance based specifications and effectively using sales and promotional tools to identify and develop potential applications and sales for both existing and potential assigned products.
  • Promote and enforce the procedures and policies regarding the sales and promotion of assigned product lines.
  • Develop and manage an effective stocking distributor network.
  • Manage territory and regional pricing and quotation practices within established parameters.
  • Perform market research and provide specific feedback as required.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of advertising and promotional programs as required. Assist in generating promotional ideas for use in advertising. Submit materials for case histories, and field experiences that illustrate unique applications in the territory.
  • Obtain and provide management with specific account information necessary to develop and manage inventory levels. Communicate changes in customer purchasing practices that require adjustments to product stocking levels at plants.

Personal Selling & Specification Development:

  • Develop and grow personal relationships with individuals within those specifying, end-user, contractor and distributor accounts and potential accounts that represent 80% of the sales potential for assigned product portfolio within the region.
  • Participate in local, regional and national trade shows and trade organizations that provide opportunities to influence specification, identify future construction jobs, develop key relationships or show support for distribution and promotion of assigned products.
  • Continually identify and develop new opportunities for the use and sales of all assigned products.
  • Excellent Communications skills; Oral, Written, and Presentation
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization, as well as maintain a professional and customer-focused relationship with outside contacts.
  • Must be results driven

Information Management:

  • Develop and maintain a key account book or data base that includes up-to-date specifications, key contact names, addresses, phone numbers and listing of current on-going projects and information regarding up-coming projects or maintenance programs that could utilize all assigned products.
  • Research, develop and submit management reports as required.
  • Participate in the planning process as required.

Qualifications include:

  • BS/BA in Marketing, Engineering or Business. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7(+) years Sales experience. Water industry experience a plus.
  • Minimum 5-7(+) years experience in recommending Hubbell Enclosures products for specific applications preferred. Experience could be in selling, engineering, or providing customer service to Manufacturers Representatives and customers.
  • SAP, Microsoft Office software experience preferred.

Additional Information:

  • Travel required, 60% or more
