Position Overview:
The Columbia Product Manager will be responsible for the sales/margin growth and improvement for his or her assigned portfolio of Columbia products. The position will also be accountable for the price positioning, marketing strategy, forecasting, and service initiatives associated with these product lines. Integrating new SSL technology into existing product lines will be a major focus, while rationalizing the long term viability of the product portfolio. The position will interface with operations, sales, product engineering, and customer support functions consistently while executing the Columbia plan for constant improvement and growth.
Responsibilities Include:
- Identify and provide direction on profitability/margin/pricing improvement opportunities
- Conduct product evaluations and adjustments to grow sales and improve quality
- Evaluate product cost positions and development operational advancements to product`s manufacturability
- Develop marketing story/strategy including responsibility of all product collateral to improve sales traction
- Provide direction for all shared support functions based on brands service/sales/quality initiatives
- Evaluate profitability and resource needs in making yes/no decisions of custom product and competitive sales opportunities
- Forecast units and sales using platform SIOP forecasting tools
- Executes margin and sales growth initiatives by expanding, rationalizing, and developing new product lines for market needs
- Provides pre and post sales support to a high level of customer experience
- Continuous evaluation of product`s service positioning, such as stock and Quick Ship
- Develops product and process training for internal and external sales, support teams, and internal shared services
- Provides needed technical support for customers, sales force and warranty services
- Includes domestic and/or international travel estimated at 10%-20%
Qualifications Include:
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering is required
- 5+ years experience in lighting field is needed
- Experience in Product/Project Management, Engineering, Sourcing or Manufacturing is preferred
- Strong leadership and team-building skills needed
- Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to execute projects to target goals
