Position Overview:

The Manager, Manufacturing Engineering directs, coordinates, and completes activities of the Manufacturing Engineering Department to establish, maintain, and continually improve processes required to manufacture the connectors produced in the Littleton facility.

Responsibilities include:

• Production Support: Troubleshoot process problems caused by machine, material, and/or methods. Evaluate non-conforming material including disposition and root cause analysis
• Cost Reductions: Identify and implement cost reductions that improve the profitability of the company through material, labor, and overhead expense reductions.
• Process Improvements: Including improved safety, increased throughput, reduced set-up time, improved quality, reduced lead time, reduced down time, and reduced waste stream.
• Capital Equipment Expenditures: Identify needs, investigate equipment, determine feasibility through ROI and payback analysis, prepare memo of justification as necessary, establish specifications, select equipment, conduct acceptance run-off, and oversee installation and start-up
• New Product Development: Work with Design and Marketing to ensure that new products can be produced efficiently and cost effectively
• Assign tasks, projects, responsibilities, and other work to subordinates
• Establish annual budgets associated with Capital Expenditures, Cost Reduction Initiatives, and Department Expenses
• Determine required staffing levels necessary for the Manufacturing Engineering Department to perform the required duties, and participate in the justification, budgeting, and hiring of additional staff.
• Prepare and distribute periodic status and update reports associated with CAPEX spending, Cost Reductions, Projects, and Goals & Objectives
• Complete annual Performance Appraisals for all direct report employees
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizations policies including the disciplining of employees as needed, addressing complaints, and resolving personnel conflicts
• Provide primary and/or back-up responsibility for product line(s) as necessary including the duties associated with Production Support

• Bachelors degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university; and six to ten years experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Prior supervisory experience, background in project management and strong MS Office skills required.
• Bill & route, product costing, Six Sigma and relevant manufacturing experience a plus.
• CAD and 3D modeling a plus as well.
