Job Description:
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) is a leader in the manufacture and distribution of a wide variety of transmission, distribution, substation, OEM and telecommunications products used by utilities. In addition, HPS products are used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries. Products include construction and switching products, tools, insulators, arresters, pole line hardware, cable accessories, connectors, test equipment, transformer bushings and polymer precast enclosures and equipment pads.
HPS recognized brands include Anderson, Chance, CDR, Delmar, Electro Composites, Hipotronics, Hubbell Cable Accessories, Fargo, Ohio Brass, PCORE, Polycast, Quazite and USCO with combined service to customers for more than 100 years with quality, innovative products.
Currently HPS has an opening in their Leeds, AL facility, located minutes outside of Birmingham, for a Product Development Engineer.
The Product Development Engineer will prototype and design for manufacturability, coordinate UL/CSA/IEEE product testing, troubleshoot, provide failure analysis and product enhancement. Aside from standard duties, must be willing to help with other tasks and assist other team members as needed.
Requirements:
BSME. Must possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the Utility/Power distribution industry. Project Management experience required. Experience in structural design, FEA, materials and switch design are desirable.
Ability to relocate in future for promotion is preferred.
Travel:
Up to 25%.
