Job Description:
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) is a leader in the manufacture and distribution of a wide variety of transmission, distribution, substation, OEM and telecommunications products used by utilities. In addition, HPS products are used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries. Products include construction and switching products, tools, insulators, arresters, pole line hardware, cable accessories, connectors, test equipment, transformer bushings and polymer precast enclosures and equipment pads.
HPS recognized brands include Anderson, Chance, CDR, Delmar, Electro Composites, Hipotronics, Hubbell Cable Accessories, Fargo, Ohio Brass, PCORE, Polycast, Quazite and USCO with combined service to customers for more than 100 years with quality, innovative products.
Currently HPS has an opening in their Leeds, AL facility, located minutes outside of Birmingham, for a Manufacturing Engineer.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for performing engineering work related to planning, devising, or adapting methods to improve manufacturing production. The ME will also inspect equipment, processes, operations, and assembly to determine time or quality revisions and suggest improvements. The ME will have responsibility to carry out changes or monitor operations standards, as well as evaluate vendor proposals for new equipment purchases.
Job Requirements:
A BSME or degree in related engineering discipline.
Prior project management experience required. Must possess a minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing shop floor experience. Must have strong background in lean manufacturing techniques.
Travel: Up to 25% travel required.
