Job Description:
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) is a leader in the manufacture and distribution of a wide variety of transmission, distribution, substation, OEM and telecommunications products used by utilities. In addition, HPS products are used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries. Products include construction and switching products, tools, insulators, arresters, pole line hardware, cable accessories, connectors, test equipment, transformer bushings and polymer precast enclosures and equipment pads.

HPS recognized brands include Anderson, Chance, CDR, Delmar, Electro Composites, Hipotronics, Hubbell Cable Accessories, Fargo, Ohio Brass, PCORE, Polycast, Quazite and USCO with combined service to customers for more than 100 years with quality, innovative products.

Currently HPS has an opening in their Leeds, AL facility, located minutes outside of Birmingham, for an Application Engineer within its distribution products business unit.

The Application Engineer will assist customers in the application of Hubbell distribution products such as, but not limited to, Reclosers and Sectionalizers. This activity will include customer communication, the analysis of customer needs and the programming of microprocessors. Aside from standard duties, must be willing to help with other tasks and assist other team members as needed, including providing input for new product development.

Requirements:
BSEE. Should possess a minimum of 1-5 years of experience in the Utility/Power distribution industry. Recent graduates will be considered, depending on academic course content. Project Management experience required. Experience in utility automation software (Zigbee, Scada, etc.) and interruption science, as well as switch design are desirable.

Travel:
Up to 25%.
