Job Description
The Business Objects Developer is responsible for report development using Xcelsius, Web Intelligence, and Crystal Reports in a SAP BI / BW environment. This position will work with the Business Objects Administrator and the SAP BI Team on all Business Objects Development, maintenance and upgrades. In addition, the Business Objects Developer will also work with the user community to guide them on Best Practices for report development.
Essential responsibilities include:
- Will work with key stakeholders to design Dashboards and appropriate BI Scorecards, Graphs, Drill-downs and dynamic reports that meet the information needs of the business users.
-Will work closely with the SAP BI Team and external users to recommend reporting solutions based on the capabilities of the SAP Business Objects Toolset.
-Will work with the Business Objects Administrator on defining and building Business Objects Universes for SAP BI and non-SAP data.
-Will work with the Business Objects Administrator on all upgrades projects.
Qualifications:
Education:
- A 4-year degree is required, with a degree in Computer Science or a related field of study preferred.
Experience:
- 4+ years of development experience with Business Objects XI R3 using Xcelsius, Web Intelligence and Crystal Reports is required.
- 2+ years of development experience with Business Objects Universes is preferred.
- 1+ years of development experience with SAP Business Intelligence (BI 7.0) and SAP Business Objects Integration is strongly preferred. Business Objects Enterprise XI R3 is desired.
- Must possess a clear understanding of concepts and architecture associated with Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing.
- Strong requirements gathering experience is needed.
- An ability to demonstrate proven reporting solutions using SAP Business Objects XI R3 with working knowledge of SAP BI 7.0 Data Warehouse and SAP Portal desired.
- Understanding of Oracle Schemas and Business Objects XI R3 certification are pluses.
