Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or Accounting
10+ years of demonstrated increasing level of responsibility in a financial setting and a minimum of 5 years' experience in large budget management environment with project management and planning responsibilities.
The individual will:

- 5+ years of managerial experience including planning work activities, goal setting and performance management
- Health care experience
Fully responsible for establishing goals, objectives, policies, procedures and priorities related to actvities of the budget department. Budget Director conducts and develops the annual operating budget and capital budget processes for HUMC; monitors revenues and expenses for conformance to budget; develops recommendations for adjustments. The Budget Director also coordinates detailed financial research and analysis related to the HUMC budget, special reports and other areas required. This position is responsible for: monitoring the budget status/ledger reports and revenues of HUMC; assists various budgeting departments for submission of accurate and viable budget proposals.
1. Directs annual and capital budget process among HUMC departments to facilitate interaction, accurate information, timeliness and assistance in the preparation of budget proposals at all stages of the process.
2. Develops annual and capital budget calendar and format of budget process and procedures and provides departments with budget information and forms.
3. Monitors revenues and expenses to conform to budget and recommends to senior management necessary changes and corrections to the current year's appropriations.
4. Implements effective mechanics for the review of department budgets to identify opportunities to more effectively deploy HUMC's financial resources.
5. Assists as necessary in the preparation of financial reports, grant applications, and other reports.
6. Works closely with appropriate departments to analyze and forecast both current and future years' revenues and expenditures.
7. Develops and maintains long-range budgetary financial models.
8. Provides budget estimates with future years' revenue and cost projections as necessary.
