Job Description
This position will oversee the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication's Integrated Media Suite and media equipment. The program assistant will arrange meetings and events, record and maintain equipment records, be responsible for arranging equipment maintenance, and monitor a busy student interactive media lab. The position will require outreach activities with local area media outlets to understand industry needs and ensure program graduates are prepared to meet those needs . Technical expectations include all aspects of video production, studio and editing equipment, working with media software such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Master Collection, and Microsoft Office, and using clerical and software skills to digitally archive media records and research materials.
This position may require flexible hours during events held in the interactive media lab or for the student programs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication or related field and experience using broadcast media equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
Production training or experience in video/photography and linear/non-linear editing.
Experience installing, operating and maintaining production, studio and editing equipment.
Experience with media software such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Master Collection.
Experience work with a variety of customers such as students, faculty, and industry/agency representatives.
Salary
Minimum $28,468; commensurate with qualifications
