Project Procurement Specialist
Job Location: Central Iowa
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for identifying and delivering cost savings on customer project orders by leveraging global suppliers.
- Develop sourcing strategy in conjunction with global Project Management team for Tier III projects
- Price negotiation
- Map project demand and communicate long-lead/ key components scope to suppliers to plan their capacity
- Interface with operations team to ensure alignment with project sourcing strategy
- Manage supplier performance and quality
- Develop and maintain effective communications with worldwide manufacturing locations.
- Ensure items purchased meet requirements and that sourcing strategies have desired effects on manufacturing performance.
- Provide oversight in the sourcing and selection process of engineered components including requests for bids and bid evaluation
- Monitor, forecast and report project procurement metrics.
Previous Experience/Skills Requirements:
- 3 - 5 years Purchasing, Materials, Engineering, and/or Manufacturing experience
- Technically competent to interface with various functions including Project Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Suppliers, Purchasing and Materials to understand and convey raw material requirements, and to evaluate abilities of potential suppliers.
- Good communication, organization, and follow-up skills to make presentations (written and verbal) that achieve a coordinated response across organizational lines.
Educational Requirements:
Four year technical degree or equivalent experience, MBA preferred
Compensation/Benefits:
$65K to $70K plus Benefits and Relo
