Manager Production Planning, Inventory & Materials
Job Location: Central Iowa
Description:
Our Client has an immediate opening for a Manager of Production Planning/Inventory and Material Systems.
This position is responsible to manage daily execution of SAP/APO Systems to provide business units a realistic production schedule, to meet customer needs, improve plant productivity and minimize inventory requirements. Provide tactical leadership to personnel responsible for executing the Material Delivery Systems (including Kanban levels, supermarkets, supplier trigger systems, etc.) for internal and external customers and suppliers. Utilizes working knowledge of Lean tools to drive continuous improvements in materials flow, triggering systems, and other scheduling/stocking tools.
The Manager Production Planning/Inventory and Material Systems is responsible to manage:
Manage daily matrix communications to Corporate SCL, Purchasing, Engineering, Sourcing, internal Supplier management, Business Unit Management and Plant Staff to overcome issues and reach suitable compromises and solutions as needed. Develops annual inventory budget and oversees the detailed actions to meet it. Coordinates annual physical inventories.
Oversees cycle counting and data accuracy programs. Tracks and manages excess/obsolete inventories. Tracks and reports supplier performance statistics. Works closely with internal/external resources to resolve various issues. Manages and insures that materials-related systems and operating procedures meet SOX/ ISO process control requirements.
Requirements
Qualified candidates must possess the following qualifications:·
- Experience with Lean “Pull” System implementation.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven abilities to facilitate change.
- Ability to utilize appropriate Lean tools to meet the desired delivery, cost and customer service objectives.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of related manufacturing and/or materials experience in a larger manufacturing organization.
- Minimum of 2+ years in a master scheduling role.
- SAP System experienced highly desired.
- Power user of Microsoft Excel/Access.
Compensation/Benefits:
$80 to $90K plus benefits
