Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements:
The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include a minimum of an Associate in Science degree, Radiography certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and licensure as a General Radiographer by the Florida Department of Health This position requires current knowledge and technical skill in the field of clinical radiologic technology as well as proficiency in instruction, and inter-personal skills.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
The essential job functions and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
1. Instruction in classroom or skills laboratory or supervision of students in hospital clinical rotations for the Radiologic Technology courses.
2. Demonstration of safe patient management, professional behavior and sound judgment.
3. Demonstration of current knowledge and technical expertise in field of radiologic technology.
4. Demonstration of oral and written communication skills and team work.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The specific duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:
1. Instructing courses including lecture, laboratory, and/or clinical rotations to meet the overall course objectives and program goals.
2. Overseeing the preparation, assignment, and supervision of students while on clinical rotations.
3. Evaluating student progress using multiple teaching methodologies, and maintaining accurate student records.
4. Supporting student success through counseling, advising, and assisting individual students.
5. Maintaining positive communication with affiliating health care agencies.
6) Participating in department, division and college adjunct faculty meetings.
7) Maintaining equipment and supplies on assigned campus(es).
8) Participating in professional development activities to enhance professional knowledge and skill.
9) Performing other duties as assigned.

Essential Physical Skills:
This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, and stoop. This position also requires sufficient eyesight to observe patients, manipulate equipment and evaluate procedural results; sufficient hearing to assess patient needs and communicate verbally with students and other health care providers; sufficient verbal and written skills to communicate needs promptly and effectively in English; sufficient gross and fine motor coordination to respond promptly to the patient’s needs, manipulate equipment, lift a minimum of 30 pounds, participate as a team member of four in moving a 150 pound incapacitated patient, and ensure overall patient safety. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRCC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.

Your cover letter must address how you feel you are qualified for the specific position and must address qualifications/knowledge and skill requirements as indicated on the job description.

Application for Certification
This form can be downloaded from the IRCC Human Resources website or will be included in the application packet picked up in the Office of Human Resources/Employment at the Main Campus, Fort Pierce. This form will be used to notify the vice president who issues certificates of the disciplines requested to teach.

Adjunct Faculty Data Form
This form can be downloaded from the IRCC Human Resources website or will be included in the application packet picked up in the Office of Human Resources/Employment at the Main Campus, Fort Pierce. This form will be used to provide additional information to the instructional dean.

Philosophy of Education
To demonstrate proficiency in written communication (SACS Criteria 4.8.1), all applicants pursuing a Faculty or administrative position must present in their own words their Philosophy of Education.

Transcripts
Photocopies of transcripts are required to apply. If you are selected for an interview, you will be asked to have official transcripts sent. Official transcripts are required in order to issue the IRCC Teaching Certificate. To be considered "official", these transcripts must be received by IRCC directly from the institution attended. Transcripts provided by the applicant in a sealed envelope will not be considered official. Official transcripts are required in order to issue the IRCC Teaching Certificate.

Three Letters of Recommendation
Professional letters are preferred with personal letters acceptable. You can provide these with your application or request that your recommenders mail them directly to the Human Resources Office/Employment at the Main Campus, Fort Pierce.

One-Year Work Verification Form/Letter
This form can be downloaded from the IRCC Human Resources website or will be included in the application packet picked up in the Office of Human Resources at the Main Campus, Fort Pierce. This form can be used as one of your three letters of recommendation. You can provide a letter in lieu of this form as long as the letter is on company letterhead and includes the following information: job title, dates of employment, and specific responsibilities as they relate to the discipline(s) you are requesting to teach.

Interview Process
Individuals selected will be contacted by telephone or letter to arrange for an interview. After the interviewing process is completed, you will be contacted concerning any missing documents necessary for issuing the IRCC Teaching Certification.

Teaching Certification
All IRCC full-time and part-time (Adjunct) faculty are required to be certified by IRCC in the discipline/subject taught. This certificate will specify each discipline and the level at which it may be taught, date of issue, and expiration date. It will be issued by the Vice President of Instructional Services with the original going to the employee and a copy being placed in the employee's personnel file.

The levels to be certified at and the minimum qualifications are as follows:
  • Baccalaureate (Credit): Requires a Master's degree in the discipline; or any Master's degree with eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in the field being taught. In addition, some disciplines may require a terminal degree.
  • Pre-baccalaureate (Credit): Requires a Master's degree in the discipline; or any Master's degree with eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in the field being taught.
  • Technical Specialty (Credit): Requires one-year's experience working in the area of specialization to be taught and at least an A.A., A.S. or A.A.S. degree.
  • College Prep Certification: Requires a Bachelor's degree in the discipline related to the teaching assignment and either teaching experience in a discipline related to the assignment or graduate training in remedial education.
  • College Prep English: Baccalaureate degree or higher in English Literature, Language Arts, Journalism, or English-related Education degree, with appropriate teaching experience.
  • College Prep Mathematics: Baccalaureate degree or higher in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Statistics or Business, Business Education, Natural Sciences, Natural Sciences Education, Computer Science, Computer Science Education or Engineering with substantial Mathematics course work through Calculus, with appropriate teaching experience.
  • College Prep Reading: Baccalaureate degree or higher in Reading, Broadcasting or Journalism, Literature, Language Arts, or Reading related Education degree, with appropriate teaching experience.
  • Adult Education (Non-Credit): Requires a Bachelor's degree and attributes or experiences, which help instructors to relate to the particular needs of the adults they teach.
  • Other Non-College Credit Courses: Instructor must have sufficient combined education/training and work experience in the area of specialization to prove expertise.
Background Checks
Employment may be contingent and probationary pending fingerprint and background clearances, which will include criminal convictions, and may include consumer credit, motor vehicle driving, and other reports. A processing fee of $15 will be charged at the time of fingerprinting.
