General Description:
Responsible for retaining and expanding existing commercial relationships and soliciting new business from prospective customers.Initiate and service a variety of commercial loans.Operates within a specified lending authority.
Essential Functions:
Attends to the needs of current and prospective customers seeking loans that may involve the lending of both secured and unsecured funds.Interview applicants to assimilate financial information concerning their business.
Analyzes applicant's capacity to repay to determine whether a loan may be an acceptable risk within loan policy guidelines.
Obtains and directs the analysis of all necessary financial data.
Conducts credit checks and make plant or company visits as necessary.
Makes decisions on loans and terms if within establish lending limits, or makes recommendations to a manager and/or loan committee if outside of lending authority.
Monitors existing loans to ensure compliance with terms and recognition of any developingtrends.
Directs the drafting of all necessary loan documents and agreements.
Calls on potential or existing customers to cross sell other department's services.
Provides customers with routine platform services, such as approval of checks for cashing or handling customer problems.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in sales or customer relationship management.
5-7 years of commercial lending experience including loan origination, administration, documentation and marketing.
Ability to analyze financial statements and negotiate terms required.
Well-known in the community with significant local business and personal connections preferred.
