General Description:
Develops and maintains banking relationships with businesses and related individual, within specified lending authority. Originates, underwrites, and services/ administrates loans and related products required by existing or prospective business customers. Markets bank products to existing and prospective bank customers.
Essential Functions:
Maintains and develops relationships with current and prospective customers with primary concentration on loans that may involve the lending of both secured and unsecured funds, treasury management and deposit services. Officer will interview applicants to assimilate financial information concerning their business. Analyzes applicant’s capacity to repay and determine whether a loan may be an acceptable risk within loan policy guidelines. Obtains and directs the analysis of all necessary financial data. Conducts credit checks and makes plant or company visits as necessary. Makes decisions on loans and terms if within established lending limits, or makes recommendations to a supervisor and/or loan committee if outside of lending authority. Monitor existing loans to ensure compliance with terms and recognition of any developing trends. Assists senior loan officers on larger and/or complicated loan relationships and directs the drafting of all necessary loan documents and agreements. Call on potential or existing customers to cross-sell department’s services. Provide customers with routine platform services, such as approval of checks for cashing or handling customer problems. Supervise staff as needed.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
College degree in Business or Finance. Position requires minimum of 5 years commercial lending experience including loan origination, administration, documentation and marketing. Ability to analyze financial statements and negotiate terms required.
