Solution Architect - Mainframe - $6,390 - $9,570

• leading the development of the project architecture design,
• providing leadership and direction to solution delivery teams to fit solutions to the architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the architecture to accommodate solution needs,
• ensuring proper and effective reuse of application and technical services, frameworks and standard tools and templates in the proposed solution,
• ensuring that all aspects of the solution design follows best practices and meets the requirements of the business by participating in conceptual and physical design, participating in design reviews and approving design deliverables,
• ensuring that code (and other implementation artifacts) adhere to standards and implement the specified design by participating in detailed reviews and providing approval,
• providing guidance to project teams in determining what functionality currently being implemented should be exposed as new services to the enterprise and providing training, mentoring and knowledge to project team members.

• must have a Bachelors Degree in computer science or an analytical discipline, or equivalent experience,
• must have five years of experience leading full lifecycle solution development of both batch and online applications using Advantage:Gen, COBOL and DB2 in an IBM mainframe environment,
• must have experience designing, developing and implementing applications using IBM mainframe technologies(zOS, CICS, COBOL, Advantage:Gen, DB2, VSAM files),
• must have expert knowledge and experience with designing and delivering solutions that factor in system performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies, scalability and overall cost to develop and maintain,
• must have experience designing and building applications using object oriented analysis & design techniques (OOAD)
• must have experience with enterprise application integration using asynchronous messaging, message brokers, ETL tools and web services,
• experience with multiple database technologies such as Oracle, DB2, Microsoft SQL Server,
• must have the ability to work with multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments,
• must have strong business knowledge, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into enterprise architecture requirements,
• must have strong interpersonal and leadership skills,
• must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, o must have excellent planning and organizational skills,
• must be able to balance the long-term ("big picture") and short term implications of individual decisions and drive short-term actions that are consistent with long term goals,

• experience with multi-platform environments such as Microsoft Windows, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX, Redhat, as well IBM Mainframe; along with the ability to integrate them,
• experience with security related products such as RACF, Tivoli Identity Manager and Access Manager, single-signon solutions (e.g., PassLogix vGO-SSO), SiteMinder, LDAP, Active Directory and
• experience designing and building n-tier distributed applications on Java or .NET architectures.
