Elec. & Instrument Maintenance Support Engineer

Description:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide instrument and electrical engineering support including repairs and installation to field maintenance technicians.
• Serve as coach and technical liaison for instrument and electrical technicians by providing assistance in troubleshooting equipment and development of repair plans. Work closely with technicians in understanding the Routine Maintenance Work Process and develop mechanical technical skills throughout the maintenance organization focused on proactive habits that prevent equipment failures.
• Promote and use safe work practices to provide a safe work environment and ensure Process Safety Management requirements are met.
• Rigorously participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to improve availability of instrument and electrical devices and systems.
• Participate in development of maintenance strategies (RCM) for critical mechanical systems.
• Provide equipment specific preventative and predictive maintenance and repair procedures.
• Work in a team environment of operators, instrument and electrical technicians, maintenance planners, maintenance supervision, and reliability engineers.
• Drive small projects that improve reliability of critical plant processing equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
• 2 + years plant experience in Electrical and Instrumental engineering discipline.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Routine Maintenance Work Process.
• High level of self motivation, creativity, and flexibility.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS PREFERRED
• 5 + years experience in Electrical and Instrumental engineering at a chemical operations or manufacturing site.
• Experience as a participant or Facilitator in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analysis.
• Strong organization and planning skills.
• Results oriented.
• Experience of overhead power distribution systems.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
• Associate Degree
EDUCATION PREFERRED
• B.S. Electrical Engineering
