Environmental Engineer

Job Location: Seaford, DE

Shift: Full-Time

Job Responsibilities:
Champion the implementation of the Compliance Systems Process and develop an action plan to implement at the Seaford Site
- Prioritize all EHS programs with respect to risk for non-compliance
- Responsible for the day-to-day execution of the compliance system program elements and the metrics associated with the program.
- Identify Compliance System Owners at capability and program level for each critical program with single ownership assigned.
- Identify EHS Program Gaps (current state vs. future state) and work toward filling those gaps by understanding applicable requirements, integrating into existing operating tools and where necessary identifying new tools
- Ensure that the elements of the Compliance Systems Processes are documented for each program to achieve sustainability.
- Drive continual improvement by successful integration of the EHS Compliance Systems Process into site Operations (employee action level)
- Conduct scheduled status reviews with Site Leadership Team
- Will Provide technical support to the Environmental Manager as needed working on items such as Air, Water, and Waste programs and processes. Support will also include regulatory report reviews, talking points and development reviews, annual EHS compliance plan reviews and updates, compliance calendar reviews and updates, and Environmental Audit closure process management

Education and Experience Required:
* At least a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental or Chemical Engineering
* Experience in the development, implementation and management of environmental, health, and safety compliance systems
* Strong desire to work in an environmental, health and safety profession
Experience & understanding of air permitting and compliance, waste compliance, water permitting and compliance, and chemical release reporting.

Experience Preferred:
* At least 4 years experience working in an industrial plant setting
* Experience working with regulatory agencies pertaining to environmental, health & safety
* Strong analytical, organizational, and optimization skills
* Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations that relate to process safety and risk management
* Wastewater and/or drinking water license(s) issued by a state agency
