Mechanical Integrity Group Leader

Description
The Orange facility is a world class manufacturing facility providing chemical intermediates for the manufacture of Nylon-6,6. The Nylon Intermediates facilities consist of adiponitrile, adipic acid, and hexamethylenediamine products.
Position Responsibilities:
The Fixed Equipment Supervisor is responsible for leading and fostering the Orange site mechanical integrity inspection program.
Responsibilities include:
•On-stream piping/vessel and turnaround inspections, documenting the findings, analyze the data and initiate repair recommendations.
•Supervise area inspectors and direct contract resources to ensure inspections are performed and repair scopes meet regulatory requirements.
•Provide leadership to maintain/improve the plant reliability and in meeting our goal of 10,000% compliance.
•Provide contract administration/functional direction to contract inspection management.
•Responsible for monitoring spending and executing activities to improve productivity of on-stream piping/vessel and turnaround inspections.
•Coordinate inspections with Optimizers and Maintenance Gatekeepers on day to day inspection plans and activities.
•Develop a robust CUI inspection program.
•Develop and implement management process that provides benefits in improving reliability, safety and environmental performance.
The Fixed Equipment Supervisor will seek technical direction from the Tier II resources and Site Fixed Equipment Engineer and will report to the Reliability Manager.
Experience & Skills Required:
- 10 years total plant and chemical industry experience
- 5 years as a certified API inspector.
- Piping integrity program implementation/maintenance experience
- Apply economic thinking in all efforts. MBM.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing on mechanical integrity topics.
- Demonstrate commitment to the overall goals of the organization. Ownership of Fixed equipment inspection and repairs.
- Take initiative and have high expectations, drive for results.
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage, plan and coordinate various inspections.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, maintain and extract information from site historical records and data file.
- Demonstrate inquiring, critical, independent thinking.
- Demonstrated ability to apply problem-solving techniques to equipment and process problems.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing on mechanical integrity topics
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage and plan and coordinate various inspections.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic Word functions and advanced Excel functions.
- Understands benefits of RBI inspection activities.
Physical Requirements:
Vision requirements for ASNT-TC1A
Ability to climb 100' in confined space and work there minimum of 8 hours
Ability to wear both full face and half face respirators,
Demonstrated ability to climb, bend, stoop, & twist, such that scaffold/ladder inspection & vessel entry through 20'' manholes is not a problem
