Environmental Technician - Data Management

Job Location: Orange, TX

Shift: Full Time

Description
The Orange facility is a world class manufacturing facility providing chemical intermediates for the manufacture of Nylon-6,6. The Nylon Intermediates facilities consist of adiponitrile, adipic acid, and hexamethylenediamine products. Learn more about our Intermediates business here.

Position Summary:
This position will be a vital part of the team providing environmental support and assistance at the INVISTA Intermediates manufacturing facility in Orange, Texas. The position will report to the Air Compliance Program Manager.

Responsibilities generally include:
•Responsible for tracking and meeting reporting deadlines. Ensure all items have appropriate resources and no due dates missed.
•Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of data collection systems used to demonstrate environmental performance.
•Create databases, enter and work with data, perform queries, and other related tasks using Microsoft Access.
•Prepare reports as required to support site environmental compliance programs.
•Support documentation development and formatting of information management for environmental decisions, interpretations, notifications, and reports.
•Help ensure that compliance reports are consistent with processes and procedures as established by air program owners.
•Support environmental team in managing documentation and recordkeeping as required for environmental permits, regulations, and other environmental programs.

Education/Experience Required:

•Associate degree in Information Science, Database Management, or related field
•Experience with database management
•Demonstrated ability to create and maintain databases and work with large amounts of data
•Ability to manage deadlines
•Ability to work in a team environment
•Basic knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations
•Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills
•Demonstrated analytical skills
•Demonstrated ability to manage multiple activities at the same time
•Demonstrated interpersonal skills
•Working knowledge of MicroSoft software (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)

Experience Preferred:
-Bachelor degree in Information Science, database
-Experience with completing environmental reports that are submitted to state and federal agencies.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
-Must be able to view job sites in the field
-Must be able to climb stairs in operating unit
-Ability to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions for various periods of time
-Required to physically go into the plant operating units to visually view and inspect processes as related to environmental procedures/issues.
-Must be willing to work periodic workdays in excess of 8 hours
