INVISTA is currently seeking a Market Analysis & Strategy Director to join our Intermediates - Nylon Raw Materials group. The successful candidate will have strong leadership and analytical capabilities with working knowledge of commodity base businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Point of View (POV) Development / Long & Short-term – Build the market analysis capability to provide superior knowledge for actionable opportunities by understanding the drivers at the most profitable level of detail for the short and long-term bets being made across INVISTA. Develop and maintain proprietary and actionable POVs on key commodities such as butadiene, benzene, and cyclohexane and share knowledge across INVISTA and KII as needed. Develop knowledge tools for the inside of one year time frame that will allow us to manage inventory and contract positions on the nylon raw materials.
- Business Integration: Ensure that POV and market knowledge is profitably integrated into the Intermediates business unit. Meet the business need for ongoing market analysis and knowledge as requested in the depth, frequency and mode of communication desired. Obtain feedback from business leaders on expectations, project deliverables, resource allocation, etc.
- Market Data – Lead INVISTA’s RM&E centralization effort for market data services. a) Lead efforts to locate & capture savings via large buyer purchasing power and sharing cost across other KI entities, as well as creating efficiencies for our market data users. b) Increase awareness of the cost of service and improve user-cost reporting c) Ensure compliance across INVISTA in use and dissemination of 3rd party market data
- Risk Manager – Provide input as team member for the Nylon Raw Materials team to develop risk management strategies for key commodities as appropriate.
- Project Manager- Act as project manager for special projects and opportunities as needed.
- Trading Opportunities – Identify and develop potential trading opportunities utilizing market position, competitive intelligence and proprietary POV.
Qualifications Required:
- 5+ years relevant work experience (trading, market analysis, commercial development, or sourcing)
- Bachelor's degree(or higher) or equivalent/relevant work experience
- Experience with basic Excel / modeling skills
- Knowledge and understanding of commodity businesses such as crude oil or petrochemicals
Qualifications Preferred:
- 10+ years relevant work experience (trading, market analysis, commercial development, or sourcing)
- 3+years in market analysis and/or commercial development
- Knowledge of petrochemical industry
- Advanced modeling skills
- Exposure to commodity trading
- Project development experience
