To ensure our continued success, we must attract and retain exceptional talent in all areas and levels of our organization. We are currently seeking a MECHANICAL ENGINEER to join our Improve Equipment Reliability team in beautiful Chattanooga, TN.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Translate mechanical integrity standards into manufacturing compliance programs and procedures
• Collect and analyze equipment history data in order to develop cost effective reliability programs
• Use Reliability Center Maintenance technologies to develop proactive equipment maintenances plans
• Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis sessions
• Work closely with each member of the Improve Equipment Reliability Team, Plant Maintenance, and Operations to leverage talent and knowledge
• Coordinate State boiler & pressure vessel inspections and records
• Provide engineering resourcing to Maintenance crafts and leadership
• Learn Chattanooga Plant Utilities equipment and processes
• Provide limited Utilities leadership on-call support.
REQUIRED Experience:
• BS degree in mechanical engineering or completion of BS degree in mechanical engineering by December 31, 2009
• Experience in an engineering environment working with fixed and rotating equipment (college experience is acceptable).
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
• Proficient with the MS Office suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access Database)
• Leadership by influence skills
• Ability to work in manufacturing & utility environment
• Ability to enter/move about in confined spaces, climb stairs, and wear/use personal protective equipment (such as; steel toe shoes, Fall Protection Harness, Safety glasses, goggles, earplugs) with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Professional Engineer license (mechanical)
• 7 or more years of experience in Mechanical Integrity/Reliability program development/leadership in the Utility and/or Chemical Process field (pressure vessels, piping, boilers, storage tanks, relief valves, etc)
• Working knowledge of compliance and engineering standards (ASME, ASTM, ASNT, PIP, API, OSHA, EPA, and RAGAGEP’s)
• Demonstrated understanding/application of PPM technologies to predict/prevent failures and troubleshoot component issues.
