We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Reliability Engineer to join our engineering team in Seaford, DE. This role works closely with the maintenance, operations and project organizations to lead efforts at this manufacturing facility by identifying, developing and implementing improvements to reduce unplanned events and improve equipment reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical reliability program for the site
- Develop and implement reliability strategies for critical electrical equipment
- Mentor engineers and maintenance electricians and mechanics
- Identify, develop and implement maintenance plans for medium and low voltage electrical equipment including distribution cables, 480V switch gear, electrical breakers, and electrical motors
- Lead the installation, maintenance, repair and testing of a wide range of electrical equipment such as: power distribution systems, protective relaying, breakers, motors, transformers, controls, cables, variable frequency drives, DC drives, PLCs, automatic control valves, and process control (Honeywell DCS)
- Assist operators and maintenance electricians and mechanics in trouble shooting electrical equipment
- Write scopes of work for equipment repairs and create work notifications in SAP
- Develop the business justification and preliminary scopes of work for improvement and expansion of electrical systems to support capital and improvement projects
- Field contractor administrator for work involving electrical equipment
- Use Microsoft Office 2010 tools to create and modify documents and tables, create and modify spreadsheets, and prepare and present PowerPoint presentations
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering program
- Three or more years of electrical engineer experience, including power distribution, in a manufacturing facility or equivalent military experience
- Ability to respond, 24/7, for maintenance problems
- Basic Microsoft Office 2010 skills such as Word to create and modify documents and tables, Excel to create and modify spreadsheets, and PowerPoint to prepare and present presentations
Position Preferences:
- Strong understanding and knowledge and experience of the application of the National Electric Code
- Understanding and knowledge of NFPA 70E
- Master Electrician Certification in the State of Delaware
- Experience in using reliability tools such as Root Cause Failure Analysis
- Experience in power distribution systems (up to 11.5kV)
- Experience with process control and instrumentation
- Experience with trouble shooting DCS hardware and software
- Experience with PLCs, variable frequency drives, and automatic control valves
- Experience using SAP plant maintenance module
- Experience with planning and scheduling and managing preventative maintenance schedules
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
