INVISTA`s Performance Surfaces & Materials business is currently seeking a Regional Sales Manager - TECGEN SELECT.  The position will be home-based in the Los Angeles, CA area and will cover CA, OR, WA, AZ, ID, NV, HI & AK.  This position requires up to 75% overnight travel.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Achieves maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration by effectively selling the TECGEN SELECT Industrial Flame Resistant Clothing Line
  • Secures orders from existing and prospective TECGEN SELECT distributors with an end user pull through based approach.
  • Demonstrates the TECGEN SELECT Flame Resistant Clothing Line to industrial companies and assists them in selecting the products best suited to their safety and comfort needs.  Pairing these industrial companies interested in the product line with existing or prospective distributors, and completing the sales cycle
  • Continuously assesses marketplace to add key distribution partners that will embrace the TECGEN SELECT Flame Resistant Clothing Line and aid in the pursuit of additional market share.
  • Provide training and coaching for the TECGEN SELECT Flame Resistant Clothing Line for distribution partner sales teams as well as internal sales staff.

Job Functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current distributors and prospective distributors in the assigned territory to generate new business for the TECGEN SELECT Flame Resistant Clothing Line.
  • Generates new opportunities in the sales field by making telephone calls, in-person visits, and presentations to prospective end user customers.
  • Efficiently pairs end user opportunities with current and prospective distributors to grow sales order volume from the distribution channel.
  • Responds quickly to distributor and end user leads provided by the marketing and inside sales teams.
  • Researches sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers
  • Analyzes the territorys potential and determines the financial value of existing and prospective customers value to the organization
  • Supplies management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Maintains a knowledge base of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas
  • Participates in trade shows, events, and conventions
  • Records results of all sales efforts utilizing the companies CRM platform

Skills and Experience Required:

  • At least 5 years of sales territory management experience in the Industrial Safety Market
  • An understanding of the pull-through marketing business model and the challenges associated with this model
  • Ability to travel up to 75%, including some evenings and weekends
  • Dedicated space to maintain a home office
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel (spreadsheet creation/ editing, pivot tables, formula creation, etc.), PowerPoint (Presentation creation/editing), and Word (creating and modifying documents and tables)

Experience and Skills Preferred:

  • Experience selling industrial flame resistant clothing
  • Four year bachelors degree
  • Experience using Salesforce.com
  • Experience hiring, training, and managing a sales team that produces positive results with a proven record of excellent employee retention.
