Introduction
The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Network Management Engineer.
Responsibilities
Conduct research, engineering, and analysis in support of emerging network management solutions for DoD. Apply knowledge and experience relating to current and emerging networking and network management technologies and capabilities to support the establishment, operation, and maintenance of a network management laboratory. Support the realization, demonstration, and verification of network management concepts via models, simulations, and prototype implementations. Conduct research and maintain an awareness and practical knowledge of current and emerging network management techniques, technologies and capabilities. Support capital investment planning and execution.
Qualifications
Required: BS in engineering or related technical discipline. 0-3 years experience in strong telecommunications and networking background. Strong aptitude for research and analysis, and applied technologies. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired: MS or Ph.D. in engineering or related technical discipline; Prior experience with OPNET, MATLAB, IP Networking, Wireless Technologies.
Special Work Conditions
Travel is anticipated.
