This is a Full-Time position, working 1st Shift.
Overview
The Principal Pharmaceutical Engineer will be responsible for contributing as needed in any of the Hyde E+C expertise areas: process design, commissioning, qualification, and validation projects. They will also be responsible for compliance and quality assurance. The position will be based out of our Hellertown, Pennsylvania office and may require project support both nationally and internationally.
Job Summary:
Under direction, performs work of considerable difficulty in advanced engineering work, which involves program responsibility. This work involves the application of considerable professional engineering knowledge and skills to the direction of a major engineering project as an ongoing program function. Duties may involve the supervision, coordination and scheduling of subordinate technical staff and the coordination of program or project activities with other divisions of a department and/or clients. Assignments are broad in scope with the opportunity for the use of independent judgment. Direction is received from a higher department head or assistant department head.
Essential Functions Include the following:
• Directs other employees in the investigation, development and review of a variety of projects.
• May supervises lower level staff.
• Primary role to the company is as an individual contributor.
• Reviews engineering specifications for compliance with ordinances and engineering requirements.
• Develops specifications, estimates and standards for engineering projects.
• Consults with clients/vendors as a department representative regarding major problems or development.
• Prepares special periodic reports and records.
• Advises and answers a variety of technical questions.

Qualifications:

Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering as applied to various types of projects.
Considerable knowledge of various areas to which assigned.
Considerable knowledge of the laws, ordinances and regulations of the activities administered.
Ability to plan, layout and direct the work of subordinates.
Ability to plan projects and prepare related designs, estimates and specifications.
Ability to use various engineering instruments and equipment.
Ability to prepare complex reports, project summaries, correspondence and maintain accurate records.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional documents, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, and customers.
Ability to perform difficult engineering computations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use a computer. Considerable knowledge of PC operations and software (Word processing and spreadsheet) are required. Excellent typing skills are also required.
Education and/or Other Requirements:
BS degree in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial), may be acceptable when supplemented with technical work experience.
Training in current Good Manufacturing Practices and other appropriate sections of the Code of Federal Regulations.
Experience: BS + 8 years related job experience; MS +6 years; PhD + 4 years
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL OR BIOPHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY.
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH CIP SYSTEMS
MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL
