Position Details:
In search of mature, dependable, and organized candidate to research various documents available for public viewing at local courthouses. These are long-term, ongoing assignments (usually part-time hours) involves visits to County Recorder`s Offices to research, review, and abstract information from public documents. Individuals will be compensated as independent contractors and a 1099 issued at year`s end.
Requirements:
- Own computer (public computer will not work for these assignments)
- Word and Spreadsheet software and familiarity (i.e., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Works, or the Free download version of OpenOffice, etc.)
- Accurate data entry skills (speed not critical, but impacts your hourly pay average)
- Reliable Internet with personal email account
- Familiarity with sending attachments via email
- Ability to work independently, keep schedules and meet deadlines without supervision
- Reliable transportation and child care as applicable
- Ability to visit local courthouses during their hours of operation (typically 8:30 am to 4:30 pm)
- Readiness to begin immediately; prefer availability of at least 2 to 3 days per week
- Experience a plus, but NOT required
Compensation Details:
Paid EVERY 2 weeks via direct deposit. Information from a single document is referred to as a "record" and Researchers are paid per approved submitted record. Amount per record varies, depending on difficulty of assignment. Beginning researchers typically earn from $7-$12 dollars per hour. As a researcher`s speed and ease of research increase, average hourly rate does as well.
