The Director, Quality Engineering
is responsible for leadership of the Quality Engineering & Sustaining Engineering departments within the Allergan Medical Device business, supporting projects within the breast implants and dermal fillers business areas. This position ensures the design and development of high quality, safe, and effective products, as well as changes to existing product design through the implementation and maintenance of an effective Design Control System. Coordinates with the VP, Quality Systems to set strategic direction for Design Control and Risk Management requirements within the Medical Device business.
This position has a solid line reporting relationship to VP, Quality Systems.
Job Details:Manages Allergan Medical Device (division-wide) new product quality engineering and sustaining engineering quality improvement activities. Supports product development and product improvement in the following areas:
risk management, design transfer, test method validation, process validation, process control, quality metric reporting, supplier qualification, design robustness, complaint investigations, CAPA investigations, process improvements and Six Sigma programs. Provides input into new product development programs to assure that quality is built into product and manufacturing processes and that process control is employed rather than inspection www.****.com
for planning, budgeting, implementing and maintaining costs, methods and employees in Quality Engineering. Ensures alignment of strategy and activities with cross functional partners, including R&D, Medical Safety, Engineering & Technology and Manufacturing. Manages subordinates` workload and performance in execution of projects; measuring progress vs. plan budget, schedule and deliverables. Provides technical and leadership guidance to employees in the delivery of their objectives. Removes barriers to success for subordinates. Influences and provides input to project teams through team member and
membership on governing bodies. Assigns resources to project www.****.com and implements a risk-based device failure investigation system to strengthened complaint analysis program. Assures that Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and risk management is utilized during development and manufacturing www.****.com and manages continuous improvement projects that may span multiple sections or departments with the objective of achieving quality, reliability and cost improvements.
