The Accounting and Development Coordinator will assimilate, record, and report information from The Raisers Edge fund development software and provide administrative support for the Development Team. Will perform general accounting functions and support.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Process and handle transmission of correspondence and other written materials for the department.
Maintain departmental files and database (Raisers Edge).
Coordinate development mailings
Prepare reports and analysis utilizing Raisers Edge
Produce monthly, quarterly and annual contribution reports and other reports as requested.
Prepare contribution acknowledgements, handle memorials and issue pledge reminders.
Prepares and coordinates departmental accounts payable vouchers.
Assists with the planning and coordination of the Red Stocking Breakfasts.
Ability to work effectively with volunteers, donors, and staff.
FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING 48%
Reconcile employee credit card receipts to KCSL master VISA credit card file.
Manage credit card applications for staff, coordinate changes with processing company, and maintain records.
Prepare daily bank deposits for Topeka location.
Record and maintain cash activity files for Finance Dept.
Prepare A/P vouchers for Finance Dept. related expenses
Verify correct coding of GL expense numbers for A/P vouchers generated from Topeka office.
Prepare and post journal entries to Great Plains accounting system.
Prepare account analysis and reconciliation reports through Excel and/or Great Plains software
Assist with cell phone administration and billings[Backup Financial Analyst]
Prepare and distribute information to KCSL Board of Directors and Trustees for 990 Questionnaire. Collect and analyze results.
Complete and submit application for the Combined Federal Campaign for Topeka and Kansas City.
Update KCSL annual profile for Greater Kansas City Community Foundation website.
Perform other duties as needed and assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Excellent computer skills with solid work experience with MS Excel in uploading and downloading information.
General Ledger experience including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
