Due to recent growth Koch Pipeline Company has Pipeline Inspector positions available in Corpus Christi, Tx and Port Arthur, Tx.
Pipeline Inspector responsibilities will be:
- Responsible for the inspection of construction and maintenance projects according to Koch Pipeline's Technical Guidelines and applicable regulations.
- Responsible for adhering to safety guidelines and standards and for following safety rules and regulations to promote a positive safety culture.
- Responsible for adhering to environmental standards and for environmental awareness.
- Responsible for cost control of projects in area of responsibility.
- Expected to make responsible decisions in the field for the required work to be accomplished.
- Ensure no leaks, spills or releases.
Required:
- Experience working as a Pipeline Welding Inspector using API 1104 guidelines.
- Experience in Pipeline Rehabilitation work including pipe defect evaluation and remaining strength calculation.
- Experience in pipeline repair methods.
- Computer knowledge - specifically the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be willing to work away from home up to 95% of the time.(including Nights, Weekends, and Holidays)
- Must be willing to relocate within 50 minutes of the assets
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
Preferred:
- Individual with 3 plus years experience as a Pipeline Welding Inspector using API 1104 guidelines are strongly encouraged to apply
- NACE certification for inspecting and applying industrial coatings & linings
- API 653 Certification and experience with tank construction projects
- 50% of inspection experience with liquid petroleum pipeline inspection
- Familiarity with pipe fabricating practices
- Familiarity and working knowledge of OSHA confined space requirements
- Familiarity and working knowledge of 4 gas air monitoring and benzene monitoring equipment
- API 653 Certified Inspector
- 2 Year Vocational Technical (Mechanical or Welding) degree 4 year Construction Science Degree
Other Considerations:
- Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions equipment
- Frequently works in hot, cold, or inclement climate conditions
- Frequently climbs ladders and stairs to reach equipment
- Position requires the ability to be on-call on a rotational basis and to respond to calls 24/7 for emergency response
- Position requires travel of up to 90%
- Position requires the ability to wear a respirator and to pass a respirator fit test
- Position requires the ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Position requires the ability to respond to assigned assets within 30 minutes
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, DOT drug screen, and pre-hire HAZWOPER physical
- This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identifications Credentialing (TWIC) rule and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge within a specific time period.
