Description
Koch Nitrogen Company, LLC owns and operates facilities in Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska which produce anhydrous ammonia, UAN and urea. Koch Fertilizer Canada ULC, operates a production facility in Brandon, Manitoba, which produces primarily anhydrous ammonia, ammonium nitrate, UAN and urea. In addition, Koch Fertilizer, LLC owns storage and terminal assets in northwest Europe with trading offices in Switzerland, France and United Kingdom.
Koch Nitrogen Company LLC is seeking a motivated and self-driven Instrumentation & Electrical Technician for our Beatrice, Nebraska facility. The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance on control systems components, instrumentation and electrical systems
- Repair instrumentation and electrical devices while ensuring systems are compliant and maintain documentation on the repairs
- Identify instrumentation and electrical needs including the design and installation of the same
- Troubleshoot and maintain other plant equipment
- Support other maintenance activities as well as additional duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and work at heights exceeding 100 ft.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able and willing to work outdoors in all types of weather
- Must be able to pass a pulmonary breathing test, wear a gas mask type respirator and full Level A PPE
Requirements:
- Proficient ability to calibrate, test, troubleshoot and install instrumentation and electrical equipment
- Good understanding of safety procedures
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Must be available for call outs (This is a chemical production facility operating 24 hours per day / 7 days per week)
- H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.
- Technical or Trade School degree from an accredited institution or applied/relevant experience in instrumentation and/or electrical and/or DCS
Preferred:
- Previous experience working in a chemical plant or similar environment (ammonia plant experience a plus)
- Experience with DCS
- Technical or Trade School degree with emphasis in instrumentation and electricity from an accredited institution
