Our Port Arthur, TX chemical plant is hiring an Air Program Engineer to join their Environmental team. Our chemical plant is poised for extensive growth due to expansions on site. Position Overview:
As the Air Program Engineer you will oversee Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) and Benzene Waste Operations National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (BWON) compliance programs, as well as air permitting for the site. This includes creating, improving, and sustaining the programs and systems. Responsibilities include:
- Training and development of site employees regarding Environmental responsibilities
- Drafting and submission of regulatory reports
This is a leadership role within the Environmental group where you will be responsible to drive Environmental priorities and vision to the organization. For the right person, this role has the opportunity to provide technical oversight and management of others on the team. This opportunity lends itself to career growth not only at this site, but advancement at other FHR locations.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental compliance programs with some experience in air programs or permitting
- BS in Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related discipline
- Transportation Workers Identification Credentials (TWIC) card
This role is not eligible for work visa sponsorship Physical Requirements: - Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders
- Willingness to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots and hearing protection)
- Ability to respond to and support emergency issues on a 24/7 basis
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen and physical
