Payroll Specialist - 014351
Description We are seeking an individual to join our large Payroll team and support employees across the many Koch Companies. This role is challenging and complex, with access to multiple business entities with varied product lines, more than 50,000 employees throughout Koch, and merger and acquisition project support work. You will be providing payroll support for multiple companies with unique requirements. You will also be expected to make sure all processes are being completed in a compliant manner. Day to day duties for this role will include: - Uploading time files from various systems, as well as keying time cards into the payroll system
- Ensuring hours in the payroll system are in balance with control totals
- Ensuring that payrolls, weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly and/or monthly, are processed timely and accurately
- Processing off cycle and special payroll requests daily
- Monitor Clarify (ticket request system) cases for proper approval of pay requests and making sure closed timely
- Process employment verifications
- Participate in year-end activities as required or necessary
- Participate in conversions, acquisitions, and divestitures as required
- Provide customer support for HR managers, payroll coordinators and controllers for any of our locations
- Participate in testing of quarterly updates to SAP payroll system as necessary
Work Experience Required: - 5+ years processing full cycle multi-state in-house payroll in a mid to large size payroll department using SAP or similar automated payroll system
- Experience and skills with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
- Knowledge of pay calculations, pay standards and wage and hour laws
- Experience recommending and applying laws or regulations to current payroll processes
- Previous experience working with multiple time file systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical payroll and tax terms and explanations to internal customers
- Ability to establish and nurture relationships with customers
- Proven excellent attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Proven ability to work within tight deadlines as well as successfully prioritize multiple tasks and customers in a fast paced human resources environment
- Proven ability to troubleshoot issues and determine or find creative solutions
- Must be available for overtime as needed
Work Experience Preferred: - Previous experience processing large (10,000 employees or more) corporate payroll
- Previous M&A experience
- Previous troubleshooting & testing experience preferred
- Experience using Kronos
Education Required: - Associates degree or equivalent work experience
Education Preferred: - CPP Certification
- Bachelor`s degree
