THE OPPORTUNITY
As an analyst intern at Koch Supply & Trading, LP you would be responsible for developing the analytical tools needed to understand and quantify global physical movements of petroleum products. The area of focus would be to study, measure and collect the diesel import and export vessel flows in North, Central and South America. Evolve an internal (Traders, Shippers, Operators and Analysts) and an external network of analytical and market contacts to contribute to the understanding of arbitrage worldwide flows of diesel.

Our analysts have the ability to learn and practice a variety of disciplines, market analysis, finance, supply chain/logistics and commercial development. In these roles you can develop industry and market understanding; build relationships with traders, marketers and position managers; prepare financial analyses; and advance your knowledge of financial modeling.

Our positions offer an opportunity to:
  • Develop economic/statistical/ informational models that predict future business results in support of corporate and business development initiatives to improve profitability and capital efficiency.
  • Develop market points-of-view for products including supply/demand, global product balances and trade flows, and margin forecasting.
  • Manage communicating trends in arbitrage and fundamental drivers of market conditions with team members and business leaders.
  • Gain an understanding of the relevant industries and market structure; build relationships with customers, traders, marketers, and business leaders; become knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with standards and other compliance requirements; cash forecasting; financial analysis.
  • Provide cash management: Cash forecasting; provide support for short-term working capital and long-term structure requirements.
  • Deliver profitable solutions through analytical observation and alternative analysis.
  • Effectively present results and recommendations to senior leadership in both written and oral formats.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Pursuing a Bachelor`s or Master`s degree, specifically in the areas of Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Business
  • Must have completed Junior year of college
  • Strong software skills in Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Fundamental understanding of economic theory and principles
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with a variety of people
  • High motivation and intellectual curiosity
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to analyze data from multiple sources and compile the information in an easy to understand format
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
PREFERRED
  • Knowledge of commodity markets
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese
  • Experience with Visual Basic and/or statistical analysis software
