INVISTAs Engineering Polymer team is looking for a Technical Service Engineer to join their team to help lead molding trials and resolve customer issues. This position will also serve as the key liaison between the technical and commercial teams. In addition this role is also expected to lead technical seminars to help educate customers on new strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and effective customer service for technical concerns
- Communicate best practices to the internal team from service calls and trials
- Lead, plan and perform mold trials
- Determine processing advantages including cycle time, flow, processing window and other secondary processes for focus applications
- Manage key application development with North America customer from concept to commercialization
- Determine key gaps to address customers needs, focused and strategic areas
- Learn, utilize and help teach customers to design polyamide PA66 application utilizing Engineering Design Data
- Coordinate with Application Technology team on mold flow inputs, CAD file from customer and transmit the information to Moldflow vendors for simulation
- Analyze results from simulation to ensure results will meet customers needs
- Ensure 10,000% compliance through the understanding and application with focus on intellectual properties, product stewardship, and Antitrust guidelines
- Demonstrate economic thinking and asses the long term value when considering new project from a technical marketing view
- Collaborate across teams to leverage technical resources for support on new projects
In all areas candidates must have:
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to problem solve in a timely and effective manner
- Strong customer interaction skills with both internal and external representatives
Experience & Skills Required:
- Associate`s degree or higher in business, engineering, science or related field
- 10+ years injection molding experience
- Ability to travel upwards of 50%
- Experience utilizing six sigma processes
- Experience in application development
