Flint Hills Resources (www.fhr.com) is an independent refining and chemicals company. The company has expanded its operations through capital projects and acquisitions worth more than $6.2 billion since 2002. Its refineries and ethanol plants produce fuels that power much of Texas, the Midwest and the Alaska interior. Its petrochemicals are used to manufacture goods such as plastics, building products and packaging materials. Its asphalt is used in communities across the Midwest and Alaska. The base oils it markets are the principle raw material used to produce premium motor oil, commercial lubricants and sealants and coatings.

Job Summary:

The Construction Manager is accountable for providing integrity based leadership for the construction, commissioning, and startup of industrial based projects. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in construction and project management processes as well as best practices, and will direct all phases of the capital construction implementation including: project site management, project safety, contractor management, site logistics, and system start up. Additionally, the construction manager will support business objectives by safely and responsibly delivering project goals including product quality, production, schedule, and cost. Knowledge of refinery process units and systems, as well as industrial mechanical, electrical, and instrument systems is preferred.

Work Experience & Skills Required:

  • Direct work experience in the successful execution of refinery or related industrial projects

Education Required:

  • An associates degree in construction science/management, engineering technology, industrial engineering (or similar discipline) and 1 year of experience managing industrial construction projects

OR

  • A minimum of 7 years of industrial construction/project management and a high school diploma

This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification Credentialing (TWIC) rule and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for unescorted access to the facility within a specific time period.
