Our positions offer:
The ability to manage front to back processes, or portions thereof, that require hands-on, detailed accounting work and the opportunity to develop new tools/processes that will facilitate ease and efficiency for the front & back office.
Financial Reporting & Analysis: develop an understanding of the relevant industries and market structure; proactively communicate with traders, analysts and shipping groups; become knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with control policies and trading standards. Other activities may include: contract capture, position/trade status reporting, accounts receivable/payable settlement, earnings forecasting, variance analysis, and working capital optimization.
Accounting processes: balance sheet reconciliations and research of specific accounting treatments in accordance with GAAP.
Cash management: cash forecasting; provide support for short-term working capital and long-term structure requirements.
Tax: the ability to collaborate to help analyze, plan and execute commercial transactions, prepare and review tax accounting work papers for periodic compliance filings, and administer state, federal, and foreign income tax audit requests.
Internal Audit: A wide range of projects in various companies covering a variety of subject matter areas. Projects could include internal financial control and commercial compliance audits, facilitated risk assessments, internal control training, special requests, and a variety of consulting services.
NETWORKING
The interns and new hires at Koch companies work directly with business leaders, creating an environment that fosters learning and development. In addition to professional guidance, a variety of social and business-related activities are also available for further interaction with mentors and peers.
REQUIREMENTS
Pursuing a Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation with a minimum of six hours of accounting courses.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including MS Excel
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Available to work at least 20-25hrs a week
THE PAYOFF
We offer competitive wages commensurate with experience. This role is not eligible for work visa sponsorship.
