We are currently seeking a Distillers Grains Merchandiser to join the team at our ethanol plant in Fairmont, Nebraska. This position is a key member of the site leadership team and will play an important role in the development, communication and execution of strategies for the plant.

Responsibilities

Be a key site leader that collaborates with other site leaders to facilitate FHR culture, drive base business improvements and ensure compliance and safety is understood.
Gain the ability to understand global and domestic market drivers to develop market points of view that can be effectively executed.
Collaborate with other FHR Distillers Merchandisers to understand market values and share market points of view.
Drive fundamental market analysis to support commercial pricing strategies.
Develop built-to-last customer relationships, understand customer business drivers and alternatives, and develop a solid understanding of strategies that can connect FHR more closely to the livestock producer.
Build effective cross-functional relationships with plant operations, accounting and credit groups.
Work daily with plant operations, as well as logistics, to develop efficient truck loading schedules that allow the plant to run at desired rates.
Understand freight and quality advantages for truck and rail to optimize distillers netbacks.
Develop understanding of product qualities for FHR production and factors that influence quality.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor`s degree from an accredited college or university
Willingness to travel 20%-30% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of experience in DDG/Grain Merchandising
Grain, Ethanol and DDG industry knowledge
Bachelor`s degree in Agriculture Business, Agriculture Economics or Finance, Business Administration or Marketing, with an emphasis in Agriculture
