Plant Engineer-TX Gulf Coast Refining Operations - 018755
Description
Title: Plant Engineer Location: Corpus Christi, Texas Job Summary: At Flint Hills Resources, www.fhr.com, our Plant Engineers will utilize engineering skills to investigate, troubleshoot and solve process plant problems, practice sound economic thinking/decision making to deliver best overall solution, serve as small projects manager (<$250M), managing multiple projects in a timely, safe and cost effective manner to improve plant operations, investigate problems, identify and recommend non-hardware solutions where appropriate, provide engineering support for unit shutdowns and turnarounds, and follow good engineering practices and adhere to general engineering ethics. Work Experience & Skills Required: - Strong technical background with solid troubleshooting/problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
Education Required: - Bachelors degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, petroleum, or civil/structural) or applicants must be within 9 months of completing a bachelors degree in engineering
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
Work Experience & Skills Preferred: - 0-5 years of experience in refining or petrochemical sectors
- Background in manufacturing (industrial plant) maintenance, operations and/or reliability fields
- Project estimating knowledge
- Previous co-op or internship experience as plant, reliability, facilities, or maintenance engineer
Other Considerations (Optional) (Unique skills, certifications/licenses, timing, travel, relocations, etc.): - Flexible, capable of balancing multiple priorites
- Texas (or reciprocal) PE license
Physical Demands:
Climbing ladders and providing process equipment and internal inspection in confined spaces as required (non-routine)

This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification Credentialing (TWIC) rule and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for unescorted access to the facility within a specific time period.
