Description

Flint Hills Resources is an independent refining and chemicals company. The company has expanded its operations through capital projects and acquisitions worth more than $6.4 billion since 2002. Its refineries and ethanol plants produce fuels that power much of Texas, the Midwest and the Alaska interior. Its petrochemicals are used to manufacture goods such as plastics, building products and packaging materials. Its asphalt is used in communities across the Midwest and Alaska. The base oils it markets are the principle raw material used to produce premium motor oil, commercial lubricants, sealants and coatings.

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER - AIR

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Air CSO for FHR Alaska, responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal air programs at the North Pole Refinery, Anchorage Terminal, and Fairbanks Terminal. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain, amend, and obtain Title V Air Permits, New Source Review Permits, and state Title I Construction Permits
  • Understand state and federal regulatory requirements and meet mandated deadlines associated with any air program recordkeeping and reporting requirements (e.g., NSPS, NESHAP, MACT, GHG MRR, etc.)
  • Track key metrics to develop and implement systems and tools to support and improve compliance
  • Work with operations personnel and management, serving as the point of contact to provide technical support for air compliance questions from facility staff

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of two years experience in environmental or a related engineering field.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of two years environmental compliance experience in petroleum or a related industry.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor`s Degree in Engineering/Sciences or two years of related environmental experience may substitute.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor`s Degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical Engineering or two years of environmental compliance experience in petroleum or a related industry may substitute.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OR UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Climbing heights of up to 180 feet (stairs and ladders) and climbing portable ladders up to 25 feet.
  • Stooping, Bending, Crawling, pushing, pulling, squatting.
  • Walking up and down stairs frequently.
  • Constantly (2/3 or more of the time) hearing, seeing (acuity - near, far and depth).
  • Exposure to environmental conditions (frequently walking in and out doors) with exposure to extreme warm and cold temperatures.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and 30 lbs frequently.
