Koch Membrane Systems and its affiliates are world leaders in the development, manufacture and sale of membrane-based water purification equipment. These membrane products are used in the purification of drinking water, removal of salt from brackish water and sea water, and in a diverse range of industrial filtration applications. Under the direction of the Health, Safety, Environmental (EHS) Manager, the EHS Technician will inspect work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety policies and regulations.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Plans, organizes, schedules and conducts inspections of facilities, work areas, chemical storage areas and equipment.
  • Monitors site conditions, practices, and procedures for compliance with environmental, health and safety
  • Selects and implements corrective action and follows-up to ensure proper action has
  • been taken.
  • Records data and compiles it into statistical analyses and reports.
  • Oversee the collection, packaging, testing, storing, transporting and/or disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials and/or waste.
  • Perform laboratory techniques on sample materials.
  • May assist in the mitigation of hazardous material incidents.
  • Serves as a principal source of information on environmental, health and safety issues.
  • Assists with the development and administration of programs, reports, training and employee seminars.
  • Performs routine chemical surveys/sampling for exposure potential and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepares and submits detailed reports to department managers for corrective action to be taken or maintenance to be performed.
  • Follows-up to ensure proper action has been taken.
  • Perform additional functions to environmental, health and safety activities.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices and avoid unsafe behaviors.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Assist with response to first aid incidents
WORK SCHEDULE
  • This position will work Monday - Friday from 1 pm - 9:30 pm.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE:
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Federal, State and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to work within a team or independently as required
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
REQUIRED - EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
  • High school graduate and/or GED equivalent required
  • At least 5 years of EHS experience
