The Loss Control Analyst is a role analyzing petroleum bulk liquid transfers of crude oil, refined petroleum products, and other commodities to maximize value and minimize losses. Reporting to the Loss Control Manager, the Loss Control Analyst has the responsibility of assisting the LC Manager servicing commodity traders, cargo schedulers, shipping operations and other support groups to manage liquid commodity loss exposure associated with the physical movement of petroleum products. The role requires application of expertise in bulk liquid transfer operations (marine, rail, and truck), loss control, petroleum measurement and analytical testing.

The Loss Control Analyst is an active participant on the Loss Control team performing numerous tasks such as:
- Evaluate individual movements in order to identify potential claims and work to resolve those issues with our counterparties.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate Loss Control status through performance measures and goals.
- Develop and maintain a process and knowledge system for the management of claims related to physical petroleum movements for KS&T.
- Coordinate negotiation of claims related to physical movements of petroleum. Negotiate personally within appropriate authorities.
- Provide periodic review of claims status and expected outcomes to management.
This position requires that someone be committed to maintaining 100% compliance and continuously looking for ways to improve in this area.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree
- Petroleum tanker measurement experience preferably gained in Loss Control, Scheduling or Demurrage
- Ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously and perform under pressure
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Highly motivated and willing to put in extra effort to get the job done
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office and the ability to quickly learn other programs
Preferred:
- Minimum 5 years industry related experience in a loss control analyzing liquid transfer reports.
- Technical knowledge of analytical quality testing, inspection procedures, and marine operations related to the transfer of petroleum
- Experience with marine liquid bulk operations
- Maritime academy graduate or experience working at sea on a tank ship.
