Roles, Responsibilities, and Expectations:

The John Zink Hamworthy Combustion test center is looking for a technician to join the team. The successful candidate will be involved in the furnance technician program and will run combusion equipment. Other responsibilities include setting up and breaking down equipment relating to furnace operations.


Work Experience, Skills and Education Required:
  • Able to work Monday through Thursday, 10 hour shifts plus some overtime;
  • Able to complete a fork lift certification;
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently while using good judgment;
  • Able to use critical thinking skills to solve problems;
  • General pipe fitting skills;
  • General knowledge of hand and pneumatic tools;
  • High school diploma.
Work Experience, Skills and Education Preferred:
  • Ability to read blue prints;
  • Computer Knowledge: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and proprietary database;
  • Two year Technical Degree.
Other Considerations:
  • Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions equipment;
  • Frequently works in hot, cold, or inclement climate conditions;
  • Frequently lifts up to 50 pounds;
  • Must be able to work at extreme heights;
  • Frequently climbs ladders and stairs to reach equipment.
