• Lead and execute effective strategies on public affairs issues, business opportunities, and projects
• Integrate and collaborate with business and operations leaders, and other Koch Companies Government and Public Affairs staff members, and other capabilities to understand business goals for optimization of public affairs plays
• Develop and execute internal and external communication and community relations programs to support company initiatives
• Build and maintain an effective team and profitably invest/manage resources employed on public affairs initiatives
• Deploy news media/social media strategies to effectively protect and enhance reputation
• Establish strong relationships with reporters, editors, bloggers, community members, philanthropies and local elected officials
• Provide 24/7 communications crisis and incident response capability as needed

Required

• 5+ years of public relations experience
• 5+ years of business communications experience
• 5+ years in strategic communications planning and coordination
• Good relationships in the Texas media arena
• Demonstrated evidence of leadership
• Communication strategies and programs
• Excellent writing, editing, and general communication skills
• Experience and involvement with community groups
• Bachelors degree in journalism and/or communications or equivalent

• Position will require occasional responsibilities during evenings and weekends
