Job Description:
Koch Nitrogen Company and its affiliates own and invest in nitrogen fertilizer production and storage capacity in North America, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. The company's fertilizer interests manufacture, market and distribute more than 6 million metric tons of nitrogen products annually. Koch Nitrogen Company owns and operates facilities in Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska which produce anhydrous ammonia, UAN and urea. These plants provide fertilizer to customers in Oklahoma, Kansas and the Midwest. Combined, Koch Nitrogen's fertilizer interests can produce about 6 million metric tons of nitrogen fertilizer annually. Koch Nitrogen's Ammonia Facility located in Fort Dodge, Iowa has an opening for Maintenance Mechanic. At our Ammonia plants we strive to be 100% compliant in all aspects of our business.
The responsibilities for this mechanic position include:
* Day to day maintenance and repair to equipment, not limited to pumps, compressors, seals, bearings and pipefitting
* Provide technical support in troubleshooting equipment and root cause analysis based on preventive maintenance and data collected
* Remain 100% compliant in EHS aspects
* Operate small equipment (manlift, forklift and small crane)
Qualifications:
* Previous work experience as a Maintenance Mechanic
* Basic knowledge of fixed and rotating equipment
* Demonstrated ability to work safely
* Good communication skills
* Must be able to work in a team environment and perform a variety of duties
* Must be able to learn quickly and make good decisions
* Must be able to work outside in adverse weather conditions
* Be able to lift 80 pounds and climb stairs and ladders
* Be able to work on OSHA approved work platforms
Preferred Experience:
* Previous Ammonia plant or other industrial plant experience
* Familiar with process equipment, water treatment and rotating machinery
* Experience with vibration monitoring equipment, laser alignment equipment as well as plant flow diagrams
* H.S. Diploma
* Technical degree (preferred)
