CAD Operator (Sr.)

Job Description:
Utilize CATIA V5 and Solidworks to perform basic mechanical design functions associated with the aircraft and automotive industry. Perform geometric layout and graphical representations. Ensure and validate that datasets and documentation conform to company quality standards as well as the industry standards for technical packages. Develop and maintain technical data standards for the company. Assist others in preparation and architecture of efficient datasets. Provide input in development of work statements, drawings/layouts/datasets, and delivery commitment schedules. Stay abreast on the latest developments from Dassault Systemes (CATIA V5 and Solidworks). Develop and implement CAD/CAM strategy. Communicate orally and in writing with clients, peers, and management. Prepare and present technical presentations and papers.
Autonomy:
Works independently, requiring infrequent supervision. Provide CAD and “drafting” guidance to junior CAD Operators and Apprentice Engineers. Instrumental in the design and development of company CAD/CAM policy supporting company goals.
Impact:
Frequent contacts with industry peers, clients, client representatives, and decision makers regarding CAD/CAM techniques, contractual performance and issues, and follow on work requirements. Conducts technical briefings and meetings for both internal and external consumption.
Typical Minimums:
Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science degree. 10 years drafting and modeling experience, mechanical drafting and solid modeling, drawing and layout preparation, checking drawings to ASME Y14 standards. ASME Y14 GD&T certification.
Preferences:
Recognition as a CATIA Top Gun, previous leadership experience, experience checking drawings.
