The Account Service Representative (ASR) is often the first impression a customer, business or visitor has with Los Alamos National Bank. The ASR will provide excellent customer service to current and potential customers and will represent the Bank in a positive, professional manner. The ASR will assist current and potential customers with inquiries about our products and services and will make appropriate recommendations and open new accounts. Duties include safe deposit vault entry, assisting customers with ATM and debit card requests, check orders, compromised accounts and savings bonds. ASRs will work with other departments to resolve customer inquiries, problems and complaints.
Essential Job Duties:
Greet customers and visitors promptly and in a friendly, professional manner
Open new accounts and services for customers with a high level of professionalism, knowledge and customer service
Assist current and potential customers with questions about our products and services and make appropriate recommendations
Prepare the necessary documentation and issue disclosures
Make sound decisions by assessing the risk, customer expectations and your level of authority
Work closely with other departments to assist customers with questions, concerns or complaints
Maintain internal controls and meet regulatory requirements
Provide customers access to their safe deposit box and assist with ATM and debit card requests, check orders, compromised accounts and savings bonds
Provide notary services
Work at other bank offices as needed
Perform a variety of other duties as assigned
Skills and Requirements
Excellent customer service skill
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the skills necessary to deal tactfully and professionally with customers and third-party vendors/partners
Proficiency in the use of current technology and software including a personal computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and the internet
Data entry proficiency
Good organizational skills, a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
Effective time management and the ability to work independently
Ability to function in a high volume and fast paced environment
A general knowledge of deposit account documentation and regulations preferred
Ability to be bonded as a notary public
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
