The Commercial Loan Processor assists the originating Loan Officer by processing all documentation necessary to complete a loan package. The Loan Processor also assists customers with issues related to their loan package. The Processor must have an understanding of principle practices and regulations related to lending. Two years of previous Commercial Loan Processing experience is highly preferred.
Essential Job Duties:
Assist customers in the preparation of commercial, consumer and mortgage loan packages
Order all documentation necessary to complete the loan package including the credit reports, appraisals, verifications of deposits/loans, verification of employment, verification of other sources of income, tax returns and financial statements
Review documentation for potential issues such as poor credit, inadequate funds to close or insufficient income
Prepare all documentation and schedule loan closings
Assist other loan officers and team members as necessary
Assist with projects as needed
Negotiate workout agreements with customers
Organize and execute department project planning
Review, understand and communicate issues within loan files for accuracy and correction of errors
Understand and conform to all applicable regulations and laws including loan policy
Prepare documentation for regulatory exams
Work with lenders and customers to track and resolve document exceptions for loan
This position is based in our Los Alamos office. Some travel to our other offices may be necessary to provide customer service coverage
Ability to work overtime as needed
Skills and Requirements:
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal professionally and effectively with customers, fellow employees and regulators
Knoweldge of and the ability to use current technology proficiently, including a personal computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel) and other technology based tools
Effective time management and the ability to work independently
Knowledge of investor and regulatory guidelines, federal and state laws and regulations preferred
Good organizational skills, a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
Ability to function productively in a high volume and fast paced environment
Ability to lift ten pounds
Ability to understand and follow confidentiality requirements
2 years of Commercial Loan Processor experience highly preferred
