SUMMARY:
Assumes broad responsibility for the department and support of quality improvement, outcome management and decision support for the hospital, including LGH ambulatory centers and physicians. Includes working collaboratively with the Quality Management coordinator for the Medical and Dental Staff, Clinical Department Chairman, and President and Vice President of the Medical and Dental Staff to promote and integrated approach to continuous performance improvement. The director's role is to develop, organize and lead a customer-focused team that will facilitate compliance with all regulatory agency requirements, performance improvement oversight, medical staff quality monitoring, and LGH outcomes measurement and reporting.
REQUIREMENTS:
Master's of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) or Advanced degree in public health, epidemiology, or other health care related field.
ESSENTIAL JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Current leadership experience in quality and process improvement. Four (4) years of clinical experience related to Performance Improvement concepts/principles and measurement techniques. Knowledge of risk management principles and issues relating to patient safety. Two (2) years of management experience is required. Strong leadership qualities with exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Training and experience in performance improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Baldrige).
PREFERRED JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Understanding and experience with the Department of Health and The Joint Commission standards. Proven ability to effectively translate strategy into tangible plans and drive results.
